Leaving myself notes.

I found a note I wrote myself the day I decided to stay with my mom and stepdad, till l’ve had all the surgeries I need. I don’t remember writing it, but it’s sinister.

“I own you now. We own you now.

Delete message, it will still be true.”

She fussed with her bank some more 

and saw it hadn’t updated since she’d bled out for rent
on an apartment she wasn’t sure she’d see again.
